Vegan’s Baby – ProteinHouse Spotlight

For ages, we drove past ProteinHouse and ignored it. Why? With a name like “ProteinHouse,” we assumed the protein would come from the non-vegan variety. Then, one day, while actually checking out another spot in the same strip mall, we decided to pop our head in.

We’ve been fans ever since.

Don’t let the name of this establishment fool you; the fast-casual restaurant has a nice selection of plant-based offerings to enjoy. We love it not only because of the variety of choices but because they are all healthy. We’re talking breakfasts like vegan blueberry pancakes (OK, maybe these aren’t super healthy, but still), acai bowls and smoothies, juices, wraps, bowls, salads and more.

Our fave? The Plant Power Bowl. This gluten-free bowl of goodness is loaded with goodies including organic tofu, grilled portobello mushrooms, quinoa, sweet potato, squash, broccoli, cauliflower, black beans, chickpeas and more. (See, we weren’t kidding about it being a bowl of goodness.) Also, it tastes sensational.

Other gluten-free vegan options are the PH Vegan Mixed Salad (grilled portobello, quinoa, spring mix, chickpeas, and more tossed in an avocado and raspberry balsamic vinaigrette) and the pancakes.

Need a pick-me-up? Protein House is also an espresso bar and serves signature coffees, fraps and tea.
